Question

I wanted to ask you whether Quotex trading is halal or not?

Answer
Summary of the Answer

Trading on Quotex is categorically haram and impermissible; the profit is haram wealth. 1.

Trading on Quotex is categorically haram and impermissible; the profit is haram wealth.

1. Binary options = explicit gambling: merely a guess whether the price will go up or down in 1-5 minutes; if correct, a fixed profit; if wrong, the whole amount is lost — this very thing is gambling/maysir, explicitly haram in the Qur'an.

2. Absence of ownership and possession: “Do not sell what you do not have with you” (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi — sahih); on Quotex the user does not become the owner of any asset, nor does he receive delivery — merely a digital bet on price fluctuation.

3. Severe gharar (uncertainty): the prohibition of a gharar sale is established; a prediction of a few seconds is pure chance and a game of luck — it has no connection with real trade.

Decision: The unanimous fatwa of the major scholars, dar al-iftas and fiqh academies — all binary platforms such as Quotex, Binomo and Olymp Trade are haram. Halal alternatives: real trade, freelancing, or spot trading where there is real buying and selling and no riba/gambling/leverage.
