A silver ring for a man is established from the Sunnah, but no specific limit of weight/quantity is fixed from the authentic hadiths.

1. The "one mithqal" narration: «اتَّخِذْهُ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، وَلَا تُتِمَّهُ مِثْقَالًا» (Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i) — the hadith scholars (al-Bayhaqi, al-Nawawi, Ibn Hajar and contemporaries) declared its chain weak (on account of the unknown status of narrators and a break in it); therefore no specific weight is legally binding in the Shariah.

2. Authentic hadiths: The Prophet ﷺ had a silver ring made and wore it: «اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ، وَكَانَ فَصُّهُ حَبَشِيًّا» (Sahih al-Bukhari: 5866, Sahih Muslim: 2092); on its stone «مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ» was engraved (a seal); he did not prescribe any specific weight.

3. Rules: (a) For a man, silver is only up to a ring — a bangle, bracelet, chain, etc. are impermissible because of resemblance to women; (b) Custom and moderation: the weight should be moderate; extravagance/pride/arrogance should not be apparent; (c) As a precaution, keeping it to one mithqal (approximately 4.25–4.5 grams) or less is appropriate and preferable, but more than that is also not a sin if it is free of arrogance and extravagance.
